The Second Pregnancy Hits Different

I quite enjoyed my first pregnancy, only had a couple of weeks of nausea (which was solved by strawberries and cheese bread!), and didn’t feel too much pain in the end and would have happily gone the extra two weeks. But this pregnancy has been really hard on me, physically and emotionally. The morning (ahem, all day and night) sickness ripped through me for months, and when I finally rid myself of that side effect,

We Moved! & How We Dealt With Homesickness

For the first week at our new house, little miss asked us every day to “go home” and it broke my heart. Most of the time it was when we said there was no internet and therefore couldn’t watch her episodes, so I was hopeful it was a rebellion thing, but not always… After about a week of settling into the new house, we then took our annual trip to visit my grandparents in Northern

We have BIG News!

The last three months of our lives have been what feels like the longest and the fastest stretch of changes of our entire lives. We decided to sell our house, we cleaned and packed up as much as we could and listed in record time, sold it after a long ten days of invasive showings, and have been slowly packing up the rest since. After visiting a handful of amazing homes in our ideal location,

We Unknowingly Gave Up On Our Marriage

I wasn’t completely oblivious—I kneeeew the pandemic had robbed me of so much, but it wasn’t until my husband and I shared our first happy moment in a long time that we both truly realized that it actually was our first happy moment in what felt like forever. Apparently, all it took was trying to sell our house and being forced to drive around or take family walks to the park while people were visiting

Crossing The Line Into Secondary Infertility

We were lucky that our first was so easy to conceive and carry to term, so I cannot help but feel extra disappointed that I would be giving birth next month had it worked out again on the first cycle, but instead I find my empty womb… So every time we embark on another cycle, that has so far always ended in tears, I try to take a moment to appreciate what I have—a beautiful

Things We Lost In The Pandemic

In a couple of weeks, I will mourn the anniversary of when my life changed in ways I had never imagined. Not marriage, not childbirth, not success. When the worldly events became a pandemic and swiftly began its attack on my life. I may not have contracted covid-19 because of all the precautions I have taken, but a different kind of virus settled in and began to grow in my mind. I know I have

When Experiences Matter Most | Valentine’s Day 2021

Yet another of many modified holidays to come, Valentine’s Day was spent in the comfort of our own home—almost forgotten. But not to worry, we got to devour our yummy blueberry biscuits and capture some beautiful mommy & me portraits. And before you start to think that you cannot get adorable photos of your little one too because you don’t look good enough or kiddos are too crazy, STOP!! I might be a photographer, but

Blueberry Baked Biscuits: Sugar-Free, Dairy-Free & Nut-Free

Let this also serve as the official announcement that little miss has officially started Step 2 of the Dairy Ladder and we are so excited. Mostly me, but she has thoroughly enjoyed the baked goods I have been making her. So while the recipe is actually DAIRY-FREE (my followers have come to love and expect it from my allergy household), it can be easily tweaked to include dairy since it was based upon the recipe

After our first date, my husband told me I was a 6 (and that he was a 9)

Did I ever tell you about the time my now-husband told me straight to my face that I was a six? Yup. And before I could even convey my disappointment in his statement, he followed by telling me he was a 9. Rage and disgust do not even come close to what I was feeling, but apparently, my face said it all for me. You see, at the time I had no idea what the

Raising A Baby Is A Full-Time Job

To set the scene: my husband and I were chatting over dinner about how I was feeling burnt out with everything going on, and at one point I said “I least when you go to work, you only have one job—I’ve got three.” You see, I run my business out of my home. I also parent a toddler full-time. And due to the pandemic closures, I took on a day-job working from home. Don’t ask
