DAY 60
Went wedding linen shopping with my maid of honour today, and we were only there for half my appointment’s time. Whoot! For once I knew exactly what I want, made due with the selection (perfect colour!), and created something spectacular. Wahoo! Bring on the rest of wedding planing!

Today I had a blast rock climbing with my fiancé for his best friend’s birthday party. Yup. Were those people. Celebrating birthdays way into adulthood with fun activities. And I don’t plan on changing that!

I feel honoured that my fiancés family treats me as one of their own, and that I get to participate in otherwise private events and milestones. The sense of belonging is a great generator of happiness!

It might be materialistic of me, but there’s just something about vintage florals that make me so happy. Ha ha, get it..? Seriously though, their dainty floral patterns just make my brain and heart so happy! I love this vintage rose fabric, whether pink or blue or any colour for that matter. The daintiest and girlier the better. Now if only I could get shoes in this type of pattern…

DAY 66
This is likely going to become a common occurrence for the next few months to see wedding things as my daily happy moments since it is coming up fast. Today was a stressful adventure trying to figure out seating charts but we finally got it. And by we I mean me. Oh well. But my favourite part is that while discussing with my dad, he wasn’t really grasping that this place we’ve rented is like the real life version of the game of clue and it’s hilariously awesome! I ended up drawing this not-to-scale mock-up of the venue and it finally clicked for him. This excellently brilliant map made everything clear for him. Sure dad. Sure. Glad I can help. And it always puts a smile on my face 🙂

Spent the evening discussing mortgages and real estate. For most of you that sounds like a very boring and unpleasant night, but for those who’ve been in my situation anticipating being able to purchase a home, this was some exciting stuff!

Days like today really make me appreciate how loving my fiancé is. My sinus headaches are back and the poor soul rubbed me down with Vicks and slept next to that smell all while running my back. God I love him!

Today was a rough day. But I got to take a nap when I got super tired. So there’s that. And I ate cake! Yumm.

Today started off with a hella-rough start, but as with any day that I get to spend with my fiancé, ended up being amazing. On top of being spoiled with getting my hair and makeup done for my @purenaturalnewborn branding video shoot today, I got to spend some quality time with Alex. Spending a day indulging in both my passions is always a good day in my books!

I am so glad Vine is back! I’ve been using the app for this purpose for a while but now that is the sole purpose of it. For hilarious videos. And let me tell you that my sides hurt and I’ve got tears in my eyes from the laughter. What a great sport he is!

Most days my eyes look like a very pale grey, with a slight hint of a glimmer of blue. Today, they were very blue, a real blue, and it made me feel pretty. The compliments helped 🙂 And that’s something to be happy about!

I’ve got a good one for sure! Picked him up from work from his late shift after my @rtsottawa meeting tonight and he kindly washed my travel mugs for the rest of the week. Plenty of happy moments with this one!

I feel pretty. Oh so pretty. Pretty, and witty, and… LAZY! 🎶
I don’t always do my hair, but when I do, I only spend 5 minutes on it. To be fair, it looks that much better because my hair had already been curled from before, but this is one of my favourite quick&done styles that gives me a confidence boost and doesn’t cut into my sleep.

Look what arrived in the mail today!! My custom shirts for my newborn sessions! I am so excited for these to have arrived, and to wear them for my branding shoot coming up!! All the happies and jumping up and down with joy! Love love love them!

I have always loved the Archie comics, back to when I first discovered them as a kid, and still have many of them now. I was super thrilled when the new Netflix series came out (loosely) based upon them. I may or may not have binge watched them all equipped with my Veronica tee…

Kudos to those of you who knew instantly what this song means. I am so excited! Alex and I have been saving up for the wedding for almost a year, and ended up using our down payment savings towards it, so instead of going for a honeymoon we decided to save up for the house again. We are perfectly happy with that decision. To our surprise, my parents have donated a trip to us as a wedding gift. How awesome is that!? We get a honeymoon after all! Thank you doesn’t do them justice! Can’t wait!!!

I told him we needed to practice our linked arms wine drinking for the wedding. We actually did pretty good the first time. So I told him we should take a photo. LOL. It was hilarious; the proportions were so bad! My comment of “we look like tools but that’s okay” apparently was cause for snorting up the wine he hadn’t quite swallowed yet, which in turn erupted in uncontrollable contagious laughter. Ahh, ’tis the life!

Super excited for my workshop tomorrow! It’s no RTS but it is all about local small businesses in Ottawa and investing in our future. Now that is happy worthy!

While I am super upset at the reason why I needed to go out and buy a brand new work computer system, I am very happy that I now have a desktop that finally lets me run all my programs and fun equipment that I had laying around since my laptop wasn’t strong enough. Hello Wacom! And check out that awesome new monitor. Now to get to work!

I had a great time at the Love, Handemade wedding show today with my maid of honour. We found lots of great vendors to talk with, and got to see a lot of beautiful displays.

This week’s date day was spent indulging in vintage goods at the @ottawavintageclothingshow and we got some awesome finds! It’s fun to dress up and imagine the person who used to own those items and what their life was like. And who doesn’t love a pretty dress!

When you’re laying on the couch in pain hoping to get some relief, there’s not much better than him sneaking in behind you for some spontaneous cuddle hugs to make you feel better. Never letting this one go!

I am so thrilled with this vintage rose dress that I picked up at the vintage clothing show this weekend! I loved it then, but pulling it out now to get ready to wear just reminded me of how much I love dainty vintage floral patterns. Swoon!

Today’s was exactly what this challenge is all about. One bad thing after the other all day, so it is easy to get lost in the negative and forgot the sweet moments. Like this morning when my fiancé and I walked to work together, hand in hand. No, literally! We shared the same mitten in the middle to keep warm. . .

I love actually being able to sit down and enjoy a nice meal with my fiancé. It doesn’t happen as much as I’d like to I make sure to enjoy it when it does. Especially when he sneaks his arm around me like that 😉

Those of you who know me well, know that I am allergic to water (on my skin) and that showering is the devil so I avoid it whenever possible, and just do the hand-wash in the important sections every few days. Over the years this means that I stopped washing my hair as often, which has been the best beauty thing I’ve ever had happen to me. No word of a lie, this is 3 weeks since I last washed & curled my hair. Straight out of bed, still in pyjamas, and all I did was brush it. Judge all you want, I am a clean person. And I don’t recommend such a large gap right off the bat–I’ve built it up for the last 10 years. I am hella impressed at the staying power of the curls more than anything! I got to feel uber pretty today without the huge effort of curling my hair. That’s a feeling worth rejoicing!
