365 Days of Happy | December 2017

365 days of happy – december 2017
DAY 335 – December 1st
This whole week has been crazy amounts of happy since I’ve been on my honeymoon with my awesome husband, but today’s highlight was definitely our skating adventures at the roller disco (click for video).

DAY 336 – December 2nd
Today I got to take a bus tour of the entire city of San Francisco, including the neighbouring one of Sausalito, and get some amazing photos with my husband and the Golden Gate Bridge. Wishing I had my ‘good camera’ with me, but these snaps will go great in the locally made barnwood frame we bought at the indie fair on our photo wall at home.

DAY 337 – December 3rd
I decided to give myself a treat today to some ice cream since I was on vacation, but only because it was made right in front of me with fresh ingredients using liquid nitrogen and OMG was it delicious!! If you are ever in California, you absolutely HAVE TO go treat yourself to a cup of Smitten Ice Cream. My favourite flavour was the Earl Grey, and the dark chocolate was pretty damn good too!
DAY 338 – December 4th
Travelling overnight back from California to Ottawa today, means I essentially ‘lost’ my night and slept a good portion of the day. We got to get back to our routine at the new house, and went grocery shopping. Nothing overly interesting, except that I got to come home to a ton of mail, and that’s something to celebrate when only one of them was a bill!

DAY 339 – December 5th
First day back at work today. This might not be a happy moment for many of you, but when you own a business that you chose to run, work isn’t so bad. Especially when you come back to a ton of print order deliveries to sort through! (thanks to my bestie for making sure they were all successfully signed for and brought into the studio)

DAY 340 – December 6th
Today marked the kick-off date for my Fatherhood Involvement campaign, with a beautiful baby boy and his dad. I am super excited to be participating in such a strong movement, and raising awareness of parent equality. More in this later.

DAY 341 – December 7th
Nothing too exciting, but our new furnace was installed today and we officially have air conditioning (just in time for a Canadian winter, lol!). I am most excited about the thermostat that I can control from anywhere in the world. So much easier to pull out my phone than walk downstairs to raise the heat if I am cold!

DAY 342 – December 8th
At first I was a little peeved when my only appointment for the day cancelled at the last minute, but then when I took the time to think about it, it meant that I had a Friday night off to do absolutely nothing. I took advantage and binge watched some iZombie, knitted a few bonnets, and filled up my calendar for next week with to-do lists.

DAY 343-345 – December 9th-11th
My parents came into town to visit and semi celebrate Christmas with us at the new house, and of course help with the handy stuff. We had so much fun, there are no photos to document anything. Except for the one that I bribed my husband to pose for me. Gosh I love him and the fact that he puts up with me and my weird requests.

DAY 346 – December 12th
I sat in traffic in a snow storm for almost 2 hours each way to the office (no snow days for public servants!), and my look-forward-to-this-all-month networking meeting was cancelled, so it wasn’t exactly a happy day…but it might be pushed to next week so there is still hope!

DAY 347 – December 13th
I got to deliver one of the biggest orders of my career yesterday, as in literally the biggest with a handful of large canvases, and it was incredible to hear the words of praises. I love my job <3

Last newborn session of the year, and I am yet again reminded why I love my job so much. Being able to provide something so meaningful to both the parents AND for that baby–pure happiness!

DAY 365 – December 31st
Today was such fun that I forgot to take a photo. Except my dinner, cause ya-know! I got to spend the morning relaxing with my husband, and the afternoon into the new year with his mom and brothers’ families. We had a great time playing board games and competing in red solo cup challenges.
