DAY 121

It took weeks of convincing, but we were finally able to get some swing dance practice in tonight after spending a beautiful diner together. It’s not really about the dance, so much as it is about the connection we feel, and the joy of acting like complete goofballs with each other with no shame or judgement whatsoever. I love it and I hope it never stops. 💕💃 🎶👰🏼🤵🏼🔜

DAY 122

Today we went to our wedding venue to get all of the last minute details figured out, and I can finally see everything coming together. This place is amazing and it is going to be an even more amazing day because I get to marry the love of my life. I know I’ve been talking about him and the wedding a lot lately, but duh–this whole things is about what makes me happy, and he absolutely does! 👰🏼🤵🏼🔜

Today is simple yet very important: I was happy just being me, and not being afraid of what people think.

Got to try on my wedding dress today after the alterations were started and despite the stress of planning that is creeping up on me, it was pure joy to know that in less than a month from now I will be married. And it feels awesome!

I was able to spend some quality time with my best friend and go over details for my bachelorette party. Super fun! And over some amazing food too!

DAY 126

Spent my day at the local birth centre for a trade show for my newborn photography business, and decided to stop by my MOH’s place on the way home to say hello and tell her about my awesome day, and she had brownies, lemon squares and a marscapone & berries dessert waiting for me. Did I mention the were keto-friendly, which means low-carb and sugar-free. How awesome is that!? Best part.. They were flippin’ delicious! I even licked the dish clean 😉

Day 127

Had our official officiant meeting today and went over all of the ceremony details. I had no idea there were so many moving parts to a wedding ceremony that needed to be discussed and chosen in advance!! Well, everything has been decided on and scheduled, so all that’s left is for us to write our actual vows–and that’s the fun part!

Enjoying the afternoon with le boyfriend gathering last minute wedding supplies, picking up some new photo props, and enjoying a well deserved dinner out.

OMG! 25 days to go!! How has time gone by so darn quickly! Oh well, today’s end means one less day to wait until I am happily married to the love of my life 💕

I absolutely LOVE mail. Seriously. It’s like this weird obsession. I love receding things in the mail. So much so that I will often buy things from the penny-auctions on eBay just so I can receive mail. Running a print business helps, since I’m always getting goodies, but I don’t get to keep them since they go to client homes… So you can imagine my excitement when there was a package that was actually for ME!! Whoop whoop! Wedding shoes!

DAY 132

Today marks the last day working for an agency. This is good news because it means that Monday is my first day as a ‘real employee’ at my job–many years in the making to deserve this, and it’s finally paying off!

Today we participated in the Ottawa House Hunt, trying to win our down payment for our new home. While we didn’t win this year, I cannot say we lost because we had a great day. We had fun, we met some great people, and we supported children going to camp. That is still a good day in my mind 🙂
We did however win the raffle for $100 gift certificate for Les 3 Brasseurs so there’s another great date-night ahead of us!

For the first time in many years I was actually able to spend Mother’s Day with my mom and it was awesome! From yummy food & wine, to dressing up in fancy dresses, I could not have asked for a better day for us 🙌🏻💕

Slowly but surely getting through the last of my DIY wedding projects, but this one hits home because I get to customize my welcome sign to fit my life. It’s not a story or a fairytale; it truly is an adventure that I never want to end 💕

This is a photo of my working on my business. Yes, staining plywood is work when you’re a product photographer! But the happy moment for today is not so much about the painting part as it is about how the photo came to exist. It was not taken with a timer or a remote, it was captured by my instagram husband in training. But it is really about much more than that. It is about a man who does not shy away from a few minutes of annoyance in order to make sure that his beautiful wife exists in pictures that aren’t all about looking amazing in perfectly angled selfies and more about capturing real life. The sweats & ratty t-shirt moments in between, the ones where the real memories are made. And for that there are no words…just happiness!

Going out for diner to a place that was willing to accommodate my dietary needs, only to watch le boyfriend stuff his face with joy, and mutually pretend to be in another country since the weather matched–pure bliss!! 🌮🥑🍅🌶🧀🍻

What an amazing night!! My maid of honour threw me the most awesome Bachelorette Party complete with flower crowns, all the wine you can ask for, dinner, THREE desserts (keto-friendly!), and she even did my hair before we went out! Check out this amazing selfie mirror we found at Kavali’s in Ottawa! 💕💍👭👯👗🌸🌻🌺🌿

When your wedding photographer surprises you with an engagement session for some spring photos so you have something to display at your wedding, and you go full-out with the wardrobe preparation. Gotta love the inspiration photos we sent her! I think we took the vintage theme too far with our pitchfork style snaps! Ha ha.

DAY 142

There is only so much patience that a DIY bride can have, so it is uber appreciated when husband-to-be steps up and helps with the crafty bits. My rule: only do DIY if there are less than 15 to do, otherwise it gets overwhelming and not worth it! It also helps that I have access to a lot of unique resources with my two businesses… Our welcome sign took some serious time and effort, but I like to think that it turned out pretty well 😊
Now all we need are the finishing touches like a thank you and floral garland!

Today there was a huge accident near my work, which shut down the entire power grid of several dozen city blocks for many hours, causing crazy traffic and transportation chaos. Myself and fiancé were one of the lucky ones to be able to avoid the entire ordeal because we sneaked across the bridge so bypassed the whole thing, and even arrived home on time!

That moment you are working away on a client’s order (and have been for several hours) and all of a sudden you get a waft of the amazing smell of dinner. Yup, he’s at it again! I am so spoiled!

So I can’t actually post a photo of today’s happy moment because it would ruin the surprise for the wedding, but this is a close second. Yup. My dress! It is beautiful and I got to go home with it tonight. I cannot wait to be spun in this beautiful gown!! 👗💕
